Amsterdam – Day 1

We arrived in Amsterdam Tuesday morning and checked in to the NH Museum Quarter hotel with a good view of the canal. After a nap we walked past the Concertgebouw (concert hall) along a busy street to the Vondelpark where there were lots of bikers, runners and walkers. The weather was cloudy with bright periods and a light shower.

We returned to the main street and refreshed ourselves with Heinekens in a bar before having dinner at the Small Talk brasserie.

Seattle Symphony

This afternoon we attended a performance by the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall. The highlight was solo violinist Leonidas Kavakos performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto.

Cedar River Walk

 

This morning an Evergreen Hikers contingent of Mary, Mike, Vickie and Jim walked 3.2 miles along the Cedar River trail in Renton. With the temperature in the 40’s and only a brief shower, the walk was refreshing as well as scenic.
