Today we completed the Blue Guide Soho walk:
- Wardour Street, traditionally furniture-making, now film production
- St. Anne, a ruined Wren church
- The Intrepid Fox pub named in 1784 for Charles James Fox
- Meard Street with well-preserved 18C houses
- Berwick Street market
- Dean Street with 18C houses and Karl Marx's house in the 1850's
- Soho Square laid out in 1680 with at statue of Charles II by Cibber in 1681
- French Protestant Church of 1893 in terracotta
- Greek Street, a haunt of Francis Bacon in the 1950's
- Cambridge Circus with the Palace Theatre of 1888
- Seven Dials area where we had lunch at Cafe Pasta
- St. Giles-in-the-Fields, on the site of a leper colony established 1101 by Queen Matilda
- Centre Point, a 1960's 36-story building formerly reviled but now beloved
Finally, we stopped in the British Museum to view a few highlights before returning to the hotel.
